  What can you say about a 53 year old restaurant that has served as second home to most of its clients? So this place is a true experience it's not a restaurant.. it's mom's kitchen true it's heavy old world Italian food... nothing nouveau here but if you want that truly satisfying, mouthwatering old school Italian comfort food .. search no more.
  I've been dining here over 45 years And recall the most elegant host Angelo until his passing several years ago
  His daughters have since taken over and maintained the family restaurant in the exact mission their father starts with
  Barbara, the longtime hostess and Diane Rene the names of most all the customers once you've been there.
  The waitstaff are all elegant gentlemen who resemble the finest waiters in the top NYC establishments
  Ok the food..
  must haves are: the signature clams oregano.. only place I enjoy them. Shrimp with hot sauce killer app. The pastas are huge so come hungry and alway served al dente
  One of my favorite dishes her is the lobster oregenato rich as all hell delicious and quite frankly a bargain for what it is. Desserts could be more exciting but I don't eat dessert much. Besides after this meal you may need time to digest anyway.
  Angelos to me is the Taos of nj.. just a bit more elegant you must try it if for no other reason to experience it

  Not bad but not amazing. Prices are very high. As everyone said this is a very old school type of place. Calamari was fine. Eggplant parm was meh. Veal parm was VERY good. Pasta is extra. The "meat sauce" pasta does not actually have meat it in but a meat broth, just a heads up to anyone excepting a bolognese style dish.
  
  Would I come back? Meh maybe, maybe not.

  My son wore a very handsome new tank top.
  Was told no tank tops.
  A woman had a tank top on and a man had a football Jersey on.
  We have eaten here many times and referred many people in the past.
  Woman owner must be very senile or insane or just angry.Makes no sense.
  I'm a big tipper too.Owners lose $250 bill and my $40 tip.
  Was told to leave at the front door.Complete Discrimation.

  The real deal,, we have to travel from Allendale 30-40 min, But it's worth it,, shrimp parm & scampi delicious & fresh

  Angelo's is a great old school Italian restaurant. During dinner time it can get pretty crowded, leaving not much space between tables, but the food makes up for it. Menu is limited but on point with lots of authentic Italian dishes. I have seen many famous people in here over the years who keep coming back. Staff are great and interior is warm and classic throw back to a different era. They have a decent size bar area you can get a drink at while you wait for a table. In my recent visit I ordered the Eggplant part, it was done just right, marinara sauce was rich and flavorful, crisp bread, paired with terrific glass of house red wine. For desert we tried their homemade ricotta cheesecake with fresh fruits. it was delicious. No fancy wines here just adequate wines to accompany very nice dishes. Customers obviously pleased to be there.
  
  Overall, If you want that North Jersey real Italian experience, in a decor that hasn't changed since the early 70's this is the place to go.
  
  PS: They do not take reservations so make sure you get there early during dinner times!
